Where Should Photographers Host Client Galleries?

Where you host client photos is one of the most important choices in your business, because it is the last thing a client sees. It is also a separate decision from how you run everything else.

What a gallery host needs to do

Whatever you choose, check these basics before you commit:

  • Handles full-resolution files. A wedding can be hundreds of images, and you do not want to compress them to fit.
  • Easy for clients to use. They should be able to view, favorite and download from a phone without creating an account or asking you for help.
  • Backed up. The host should not be your only copy. Keep your own originals somewhere safe.
  • Looks like you. A clean, branded gallery reflects well on your work.
  • Fair storage terms. Look at what happens to your galleries if you stop paying or switch plans.

Dedicated gallery services

Services built for photographers, such as Pixieset and ShootProof, are designed around delivery. They give clients a polished viewing experience, favoriting, downloads and often print sales. For weddings and larger sessions, this is usually the better fit.

Cloud drives

Google Drive, Dropbox and similar services are fine for quick handoffs and small sessions. They are flexible and familiar, but they are not built for browsing a large photo set, and clients can find them clunky on a phone.

Why your business app should not host photos

Photo hosting is heavy, expensive and a specialty of its own. The tools that do it well put all their effort into it. The rest of your business, such as bookings, contracts, payments, messages and your calendar, is a different job, and it works best in one place that does not try to be a gallery host too.

That split is how Camrhia works. Camrhia does not host galleries. You deliver your gallery as a link from whichever host you already use, and your client opens it from inside the same app where they see their timeline, payments and messages. No hunting through old emails, and no extra login.

A simple delivery workflow

  1. Upload and finalize your gallery on your chosen host.
  2. Copy the gallery link.
  3. Add it to the client's session in your business app, so it sits alongside their other details.
  4. Let the client know it is ready, and tell them how long it will stay available.

Keeping photos with a specialist and your business in one app gives you the best of both, without paying a business tool to do a gallery host's job.
